I use the “G” for file transfers to and from ad-hoc networks for sometimes faster file transfers.
Hm, I suppose so. I have just one question, if I were to find the Broadcom one for sale, purchase it and replace the Intel card with the Broadcom card, would the WiFi light on my laptop function the same as it does with my current Intel one?

My laptop connected to the internet fine, until a short while ago. I have this problem with my new Dell notebook too.

I think posting a Sticky on how to fix this problem is a great idea! For the most part, I disabled the 54G portion of the card, and now I am able to maintain a stable connection but at the reduced rate of I finally got fed up with it, so I completely uninstalled the WLAN adapter, rebooted, with the intent of reinstalling the drivers as I had before.

I just found it suprising that Windows actually found the drivers for it. I also set the card to stay on no matter what, so it’s odd that it went off.
